⅓ cup peanut butter
¾ cup powdered sugar

⅓ cup flour
½ cup sugar
⅛ tsp salt
2 cups scalded milk
3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
2 tbsp butter
½ tsp vanilla

3 eggs whites
¼ tsp cream of tarter
9 tbsp sugar
1 tsp cornstarch

9" Baked pie shell

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º.
Blend peanut butter with powdered sugar until mealy. Sprinkle ⅔ of the mixture over the pie shell.
Combine flour, sugar and salt in the top of a double boiler. Stir in milk and cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
Blend a small amount of the cooked filling into the egg yolks. Combine with the rest of the filling and cook several minutes longer. Add butter and vanilla. Pour into pie shell.

Prepare meringue by beating egg whites until stiff. Add cream of tarter. Gradually add the sugar mixed with the cornstarch. Beat until stiff and shiny. Pile on the pie and sprinkle with the rest of the peanut butter mixture.
Bake for 10-15 minutes until browned.
