¾ Cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
¾ Teaspoon Salt
1 ½ Cups Sugar
1 ½ Cups Mayonnaise
2 Square Unsweetened Baking Chocolate, Melted
1 ½ Teaspoon Baking Soda
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1 ½ Cups Hot Water
3 Cups Flour, Sifted

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350º F.
2. Grease 13x9 baking pan with butter. Flour pan and discard excess flour.
3. In a large bowl, combine cocoa powder, vanilla, salt, sugar, mayonnaise and melted chocolate.
4. In a separate medium bowl, combine baking soda and hot water until baking soda is completely dissolved.
5. Stir in baking soda water into cocoa mayonnaise mixture until well combined.
6. Add flour, one cup at a time, until just combined.
7. Pour batter into pan. Bake for 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
8. Let cool completely and dust with powdered sugar.

This is the deep dark rich cake I remember growing up. Do not use an electric mixer. Just mix by hand until combined.
