2 c peeled and diced apples
1 c sugar
1 c flour
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
1 egg
1/2 c chopped nuts

Sauce:
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c white sugar
2 Tbsp flour
1 c boiling water
1 tsp vanilla
3 Tbsp butter
Directions:
Directions:
Put all ingredients together in mixing bowl. Beat until well blended. Pour into 8 x 8 inch greased and floured pan.

Bake at 375º for 40 minutes.

Sauce - In saucepan, blend white and brown sugar and flour. Stir in boiling water slowly. Add butter and vanilla. Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Pour hot sauce over cake as soon as it comes from oven. Cool.

Can double this recipe for large cake but not the sauce as this makes quite a bit.
