5 cups potatoes
5 cups carrots
5 cups sugar
5 cups raisins or fruit mix and nuts
1 ¼ cups shortening or suet
6 ½ cups flour
5 teaspoons cinnamon
5 teaspoons soda
2 ½ teaspoon salt
2 ½ teaspoon nutmeg
2 ½ cups suet

Grate all vegetables raw and mix in order given. More fruit and nuts may be added. Fill jars over 1/2 but less than 2/3 full and cook in pressure cooker for 60 minutes at 20 pounds pressure.

When ever I made this my family would always go to the store room and get a bottle and eat it like fruit cake. Needless to say, my bottles were always empty when I would go to get some. - Geraldine S. Becker

This is a recipe that I forgot about. Mom hasn't made it for years. She is right though, we would eat it straight out of the bottle.
