6-8 medium apples, cored (Granny Smith, Pink Lady)
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Butter a baking dish that will hold the apples. Cut a strip of peel from around the middle of each apple. Arrange the apples side by side in a buttered baking dish. Combine the butter, sugar, cream and cinnamon in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Pour the mixture over the apples and bake (uncovered) for 45 minutes or until tender, basting occasionally.
