Mix liquid and dry ingredients and mix with a mixer for 2 minutes. Cover and let stand for 2 hours.
Add 6-7 cups flour to make a soft dough. Knead for about 10 minutes, adding enough flour to prevent stickiness. Place in a greased bowl and let rise until double. Punch down and let rise again. Punch down and shape into loaves and let rise. Before baking, brush with cream and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake at 350º for about 45 minutes, or until you hear a hollow sound when the bottom is tapped. |

Notes: This recipe was sent to me years ago by my sister-in-law Margrete, who saw it in a newspaper. It is a Mary Moore recipe and interestingly enough, I have her cookbook but this recipe is not in it.
I usually add sunflower seeds to the dough with the grains and then skip the sesame seeds before baking as they are very messy!
This bread makes the BEST toast and is Dave's favorite!
