3 to 4 quarts boiling water, in a deep pot
Half a baked duck or leftovers
1 whole beet (to make soup colour rich looking)
1 small sweet potato (cut up in small chunks)
2 medium white potatoes (cut up in small chunks)
2 or 3 medium tomatoes
Dash of grated nutmeg
2 tsp. rum or gin
1 cup green peas
Quarter of a lemon
3 cloves of grated garlic
Quarter of an onion
1 whole hot pepper (Do Not Cut)
Half a dozen dumplings
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon molasses
1 teaspoon cumin powder
4 tablespoons salted butter
Salt & pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Bring water to a boil,
Add duck either in pieces or whole,
Boil for about one hour under medium heat.
Add all other ingredients.
Let it cook until the meat is falling off the bones and all other vegetables are fully cooked.
Cool and serve.
