Ingredients:
Ingredients:
10-12 slices wheat bread
About 1 pound cheddar cheese, grated
1 lb mild Italian ground sausage, cooked and drained (I used Johnsonville brand) and/or 1 lb bacon, cooked, and drained
Garlic powder
Oregano
Onion Powder
Maple Syrup
7 large eggs
3 cups milk
Salt & Pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish.
Cut bread into cubes. Place bread cubes on bottom of baking dish. Cover bread with cheese and then sausage and/or bacon
Sprinkle spices over bread, cheese, and sausage/bacon to your liking. Drizzle maple syrup to your liking, as well. You can always add more when it’s done ;)
Beat egg, milk, and salt together and pour over all. Set in refrigerator overnight or you can freeze before baking and thaw it later.
Bake at 350° F for 45 to 50 minutes. (I covered my casserole with foil for this amount of time but the egg didn’t cook all the way through. I took the foil off and broiled the casserole for about 5 minutes, or until the egg looks all the way done.)
Enjoy!!

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
You can prepare beforehand and freeze. If you place your casserole in a pan of water while baking, you will not have a dark crust around the outside edges.
