WAFFLES:
1 egg beaten
2 C flour
½ C quick cooking oats
3 T vegetable oil
1 ½ C milk
3 T sugar
3 t baking powder
½ t salt
½ C raisins (or ¾ c Granny Smith apples diced into small pieces.)

CIDER SYRUP:
1 C sugar
2 T cornstarch
½ t cinnamon
¼ t nutmeg
2 C apple cider or apple juice
2 T lemon juice
½ C butter

Directions:
Directions:
For waffles, mix everything together except raisins.
When smooth stir in raisins.
Bake as per waffles on a hot waffle iron.

For Cider Syrup combine all ingredients in small sauce pan.
Bring to a boil and allow to thicken.
Serve hot over waffles.

This cider syrup is wonderful served piping hot over ice cream! It is as if you are eating hot apple pie with your ice cream! Yum! Yum!
