Ingredients:
Ingredients:
4 lbs. round or chuck steak
4 Tbsp. Canola oil
1/2 C flour
Garlic salt with parsley
4 pouches of Lipton dry Onion Soup mix
4 cans Cream of Mushroom Soup
2 C water
3-4 tsp Beef Better than Bouillon paste
Large package fresh mushrooms.

Directions:
Directions:
Cut steaks into smaller pieces.
Coat steak pieces with flour.
In large skillet, heat oil, and brown steaks approximately 15 minutes, turning to ensure even browning on both sides. You may have to do this in batches so steaks can be browned in a single layer. As meat is browning, sprinkle liberally with garlic parsley salt on both sides.
Sprinkle browned meat with dry Lipton Onion Soup.
Mix mushroom soup with water and bouillon paste and pour over meat.
Stir to coat completely.
Cut mushrooms into slices and add to the pan. Stir in well.
Cover tightly and simmer for 2 hours, or until fork tender.
Check frequently and stir to make sure it doesn't stick. If the gravy gets too thick, add water, 1/2 C. at a time.
Serve over noodles, rice, mashed potatoes, toast, or baked potatoes.

Personal Notes:
This is an old favorite I used to make as a young mother. I have kind of forgotten about it over the years.

It was in my old Betty Crocker Cookbook in its original format, but I have made a few adjustments over the years, and this version reflects the latest, greatest version.
I made this for Sunday dinner on Valentine's 8th birthday, as a main dish to go along with her "favorites" (rice, noodles and rolls). It was a big hit, and Ric asked me to make sure I make this more often.
