3 large heads of cabbage
5 gal.bucket green tomatoes
6 large onions
1 lb. carrots
2 each green and red bell peppers
4 cups sugar
2 T. pickling spices, wrapped in cheese cloth
2 qts. vinegar
salt

Directions:
Directions:
1. Grind together all vegetables and mix in ½ cup salt.
2. Let set over night.
3. The next morning squeeze handfuls to get rid of the excess liquid.
4. Boil together the sugar, pickling spices, and vinegar in a large pot.
5. Once boiling rapidly add the vegetable mixture.
6. Return to a boil and continue boiling until it changes color - turns darker. That could be as much as 2 hours.
7. Watch closesly and stir often to avoid scorching the mixture. .
7. Put into sterilized jars and seal.
