1½ cup sifted flour
3 Tbsp. baking powder
¾ cup sugar
¼ cup butter
1 beaten egg
½ cup milk 1 tsp. vanilla
½ tsp. salt
Nut Topping
½ cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp. melted butter
1½ tsp. cinnamon
¾ cup pecans or walnuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.
Sift flour, salt, baking powder and sugar together.
Work in butter, set aside.
In another dish, combine egg, milk, and vanilla.
Add flour mixture.
Blend all topping ingredients together.
Pour on-half of batter into well greased 8 x 8in. pan, and sprinkle with half of the topping.
Add remaining batter.
top this with remaining topping.
