1 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 ripe, medium, banana, mashed
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Place flour, baking powder and salt in bowl, stir to combine.
Beat butter and sugars with mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in banana, egg and vanilla.
Add flour mixture. Beat until well blended. Stir in chips and nuts with spoon. Dough will be soft.
Drop rounded teaspoons of dough 2 inches apart onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 375º for 9-11 minutes. Cool on wire rack. Store in sealed container at room temperature. These cookies do not freeze well.
