2 ½ c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/3 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. butter or margarine
2 T. water
2 c. semi sweet choc chips
2 eggs
1 lb. pastel cream mint

Directions:
Directions:
Stir together flour & baking soda. In a medium sauce pan heat & stir brown sugar, butter or margarine, and water over low heat till butter is melted. Add chocolate chips. Heat & stir till chocolate is melted. Pour into large mixing bowl & let stand 10-15 minutes or until cool.

Beat egg into chocolate mixture. Stir in the flour mixture till well mixed (dough will be soft). Cover and chill for 1-2 hours or till easy to handle. Shape into 1” balls. Place 2” apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 350* oven for 8 minutes. Remove from heat & immediately top each cookie with a mint. Return to oven and bake about 2 minutes more or till cookies are done. Swirl the melted mints with a knife to frost cookies. Remove & cool till mints are firm.

These were one of my favorite cookies that Grandma Becker made. She knew it too. I have received these cookies as Christmas gifts from Grandma on occasions.
