1 cup pecans or walnuts
1 pkg Golden Butter yellow cake mix
1 - 3 3/4 oz pkg instant Vanilla Pudding
4 eggs
1/2 cup oil
1/2 Rum (more or less)

GLAZE:

1/2 pound butter
1/4 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup dark rum

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º.
Grease & flour pan of your choice (bundt or angel food type preferred)
Sprinkle chopped nuts on bottom of pan
Mix cake ingredients until fluffy then pour over nuts in pan
Bake 1 hour
Make glaze by melting butter in a saucepan.
Stir in water & sugar
Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly
Remove from heat & stir in Rum
While cake is still hot from oven & still in pan, pour glaze over cake. Let sit (in pan) half an hour then turn out onto dish

This is a delicious cake & started my love for Rum. June was the office manager at Dr Aliapoulios' office, my first dental hygiene job & this cake was probably the first alcohol product I ever tasted. June was also the lady who lent me the palomino mink coat I wore to Ric's dissertation graduation in Missouri with Ruth & Enola, not sure what year but it was in December.
