2 - 28 ounce cans crushed tomatoes
1 - 8 ounce tomato sauce
1 - small can tomato paste (optional)
1 can of water for each can
1 teaspoon parsley flakes
1 teaspoon basil flakes
3 teaspoons Italian seasoning

Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a large pot on medium burner. Brown 1 or 2 cloves of fresh garlic in a little olive oil and add to sauce. Sausage or meatballs may be browned and added along with beef bones. Add sugar as sauce is cooking to remove bitter taste; start with a couple of tablespoons. Simmer sauce, stirring occasionally until sauce is thickened.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Grandmom Flacco gave me this recipe shortly after I married Ken in 1986. However, since Grandmom kept us supplied with sauce and meatballs I did not start making it until she stopped cooking.
