Dough: 1 stick butter 3 oz. cream cheese 1 cup flour
Filling: ¾ cup light brown sugar 1 tbsp. butter, softened 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 large egg dash of salt 1 cup pecans or walnuts, finely chopped

Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 325º. Have mini 24 muffin pan ungreased ready. 2. Let cream cheese and butter soften at room temperature. 3. Mix well, stir in flour. Chill overnight or 3-6 hours. 4. Shape in 1" balls. Place in tiny ungreased muffin pan. 5. Press dough up sides of tin to form a shell. 6. Preheat oven to 325º. 7. Make filling: Whisk egg, brown sugar, 1 tbsp. butter and vanilla. 8. Fold in nuts. 9. Spoon a teaspoon of filling into prepared pastry lined cups. 10. Bake 25-30 minutes until filling is set. 11. Cool completely. Carefully remove from tins. |

Notes: Tea Time Sassies are an all time favorite treat especially at Christmas. The buttery cream cheese flaky crust combined with the sweet nutty filling make these little cups so tasty. Many recipes call for pecans but Grandma uses walnuts.
