1 cup rasins
1 cup water
¾ cup shortening
1 ½ c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 ½ cup. flour
½ tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. ground cloves.
2 cups quick oats
½ cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Simmer raisins in water until plump, 20 to 30 minutes. Drain liquid and add water to make ½ cup liquid.
Cream sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla. Add liquid to creamed mixture. Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixtured. Add nuts and raisins. Bake at 400º.
