4 cups flour
½ cup lard
1 ½ teaspoons salt
1 cup warm water

In a large bowl, cut in lard into flour until coarse. Dissolve salt in water and gradually add to flour mixture. Knead dough well, cover, and set aside in warm place for 2 to 3 hours to improve elasticity of dough.

Knead dough again and divide into 10 balls. Roll each ball out on a floured surface to ⅛-inch thickness. Place tortilla on a moderately hot griddle for about 20 seconds. Flip over and cook for a several seconds more. There should be a few brown spots on each side and dough will change color.
