1 loaf french bread, cut into cubes

1 large apple, peeled and chopped

1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

6 large eggs

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup maple syrup, plus additional for serving

1/4 cup butter, melted

2 tsp ground cinnamon

pinch of nutmeg

lightly spray crock pot slow cooker with cooking spray.

place cubed bread in crock pot along with chopped apples and pecans or walnuts.

in a large bowl whisk together eggs, heavy cream, maple syrup, butter, cinnamon and nutmeg until blended and pour over bread.

gently mix everything together combined.

cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours until set.

serve drizzled with warm maple syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar.
