3½ cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. salt
5 eggs, separated
1 cup butter
2½ cups sugar
1 cup plain yogurt
juice and peel of 1 lemon
sifted powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325ºF. Generously grease and lightly flour tube pan. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. In medium bowl beat egg whites until stiff. Set aside. Cream butter in a large bowl. Gradually add sugar and beat until ight and fluffy. in a small bowl beat eggs yolks until thick. Add to creamed mixture. Beat until smooth. Stir yogurt until creamy. Add alternately flour mixture and yogurt to creamed mixture, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Add lemon juice and peel. Gently fold in beaten egg whites into batter. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 20 minutes. Increase heat to 350ºF. Bake 40-45 more minutes. Cool in pan on wire rack. Remove from pan and sprinkle powdered sugar on top of cake.
