Strawberry Jello Pie Recipe

1 precooked regular pie crust or a vanilla wafer cookie crust
Sliced, fresh strawberries
1 c. sugar
1½ c. Water
¼ c. cornstarch
1 pkg (3 oz) strawberry jello
1 T. lemon juice
1 T. butter

Directions:
Directions:
Fill 9” pie shell (pastry or vanilla wafer cookie pie shell) with fresh, sliced strawberries. In a medium saucepan, blend sugar, water, and cornstarch. Cook for 10 minutes until glazed. Take from the heat. Add jello, lemon juice, and butter. Stir until dissolved. Pour over the strawberries in the crust. Refrigerate overnight. Serve with whipped cream.
To make vanilla wafer cookie crust:
Preheat oven to 350º. Stir together 2½ c. coarsely crushed vanilla wafers, ¼ c. powdered sugar, ½ c. melted butter. Firmly press on bottom, up sides, and onto the lip of a lightly greased 9” pie plate. Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven, and cool completely (at least 1 hr) before filling.
