2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 stick butter
1 cup water
1/2 cup shortening
3 tablespoons cocoa
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup buttermilk (you can make your own)
1 teaspoon vanilla

ICING
1 stick margarine
3 tablespoons Cocoa
6 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 box powder sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, sugar & salt; set aside
In a saucepan, mix together butter, water, shortening & cocoa. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
Mix the hot cocoa mixture with the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
In another bowl mix together eggs, baking soda, buttermilk & vanilla.
Add the egg mixture to the cocoa butter. Stir well.' Pour into a greased and floured big baking sheet. Bake for about 20 minutes at 350F.
Remove cake from oven and pour icing over the cake while it is hot.

ICING
During the last 5 minutes of baking time for the cake, melt the margarine and mix with cocoa.
Stir in milk, vanilla, powder sugar
