1 c sugar
1 large egg
2 to 2-¼ c all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ tsp vanilla

Cream together butter and sugar. Blend in egg. Sift together the remaining dry ingredients, then blend into butter mixture. Divide dough into 2 parts. Chill 1 to 2 hours. Roll to 1/8-in thick and cut cookies. Bake at 375ºF for 8 to ten minutes,

5 to 6 Tbsp water
