8 skinless, boneless chicken thighs (1 - 1 1/2 lbs total)
2/3 c reduced-sodium soy sauce
2/3 c ketchup
1/3 c honey
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper

1. Put chicken in a large zip-lok plastic bag set in a shallow baking dish. Whisk together soy sauce ketchup, honey, garlic, and basil in a small bowl; pour over chicken. Seal bag, massage to coat, and chill 2 to 8 hours.

2. Preheat an outdoor grill to medium heat (325 º to 375º). Remove chicken from bag, shaking off and discarding marinade; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Lightly oil grate and add chicken; grill, covered, 6 to 8 minutes per side or until a meat thermometer inserted in centers register 165ºF.
