1 c powdered sugar
1 c butter, softened
2 tsp maraschino cherry liquid
½ tsp almond extract
3 to 4 drops red food coloring
2-¼ c flour
½ tsp salt
½ c maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
about 48 milk chocolate candy kisses, unwrapped
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Combine powdered sugar, butter, cherry liquid, almond extract in a bowl. Mix well. Add flour and salt and mix well. Stir in cherries. Shape dough into 1in balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Quickly press a candy kiss into the top of each cookie.
