Ingredients: 2 pkgs. yeast 1 C. warm water 8 eggs (beaten) 1 C. of water 1 tsp. salt 1 C. sugar 1 C. butter Flour

Directions: |
Directions:Dissolve yeast in water and 1 tsp sugar. Beat eggs well until light and foamy. Add sugar and beat again. Add the 1 C. water and butter. Then add the yeast mixture to this. Add enough flour to make a SOFT dough, slightly sticky. Let Rise, punch down and roll out the dough very gently with a rolling pin or just use your hands. Spread softened butter over dough and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll up and cut into slices approx. one inch thick. Let rise till at least double in size and bake at 350º F. Then pour the following sauce on top and enjoy.
Sauce topping: 1 c. evaporated milk, 1 c. sugar, 1 egg, 1 tsp. vanilla
Bring milk and sugar to a boil for 5 minutes. beat egg. Pour some of the sugar mixture into the egg while whisking and then pour the egg/sugar mixture back into the rest of the hot sugar mix and bring just to a boil. Remove from heat and add vanilla. |

Notes: I find that I usually have to make a double recipe for the sauce because it is so good that no one wants to have skimpy sauce on their cinnamon roll.
This recipe makes a lot of cinnamon buns. If you are not using them for a large gathering, omit adding the sauce freeze the buns until needed. They freeze very nicely. Then when ready to use, make the sauce and pour it on!!
