3/4 cup butter
1 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup quick-cooking oatmeal

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together the butter, white and brown sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg. Sift together the flour, salt and baking soda. Blend flour mixture and oatmeal into the wet mixture. Add nuts if desired. Bake at 375º for 8-10 minutes.
