1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cream of tarter

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter and sugar in mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, vanilla extract and almond extract. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Add dry ingredients gradually to the mixer and mix until well blended.

Chill the dough 2-3 hours.

Preheat oven to 350°F. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into about 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes using cookie cutters. Dip cookie cutter in flour before each use to prevent sticking.

Bake cookies on ungreased cookie sheet 7-8 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned.

Frost cookies as desired. See the "Royal Frosting" recipe for the frosting we like to use.
