1 package white cake mix (plus ingredients to make cake, substitute oil with applesauce)
8 ounces Cool Whip© lite
fresh strawberries
fresh blueberries

Preheat oven to 350º. Spray stoneware bar pan with nonstick spray.
In a large bowl, prepare cake according to package directions. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake 28-32 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean. Remove to cooling rack.
Cool completely.
Place star form/insert onto center of cake; press lightly to make indentation and remove. Put a star tip into a decorator bag and fill with cool whip. Pipe topping around star outline. Arrange blueberries to fill inside of star; reserve remaining filling.
Decorate cake with horizontal stripes of cool whip and strawberries to resemble stripes on flag. Pipe border around edge of cake.
