Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 bag of frozen corn or 6 ears of fresh corn
3 slices country ham, pork side meat, or bacon
⅔ cup water
2 TBSP sugar
¼ cup milk
2 tsp cornstarch
1 TBSP butter
salt to taste

This is a very easy, flexible recipe that people always love with BBQ!

1. If using fresh corn, cut the kernels from the ears of corn and scrape cobs with knife to get out all the juice. Set aside. If using frozen, pull it out of the freezer.

2. Cook your pork option, then remove from the pan. If you do not have any handy, use bacon fat and butter to fry up the corn and it is still amazing.

3. Stir corn into hot bacon or pork drippings: add water and sugar. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture begins to thicken.

4. In a separate bowl, gradually stir milk into cornstarch until smooth. Add cornstarch mixture to corn: cook over low heat until thickened. Stir in butter and salt. Top with chopped pork or bacon bits.

From our Jack Daniel's Cookbook. We visited the distillery on our move to North Carolina. It was a beautiful area and an awesome cookbook. Lots of southern recipes.
