Ingredients: 1pound lean ground beef... 1 can, 10 oz., condensed mushroom soup, divided... 1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs... 1 egg, lightly beaten... 1/2 cup frozen chopped onions or 1/2 cup freshly chopped onions, I prefer fresh... 1 t Montreal steak seasoning... 1 T canola oil... 2 T butter, divided... 1/4 cup cognac, 1/4 cup is mini size cognac... 1, 8 oz.. package of white button sliced mushrooms... 2 cups low-sodium beef broth, I use Swansons... 1, 1.2 oz. packet of brown gravy mix, I use Knorrs.... Cooked rice, I use Jasmine rice, for serving...

Directions:In large bowl, mix beef, 1/4 can mushroom soup, bread crumbs, egg, onion and steak seasoning... mix throroughly and Shape into oval patties... Heat oil and 1 T butter in large skillet over medium heat, brown the patties on both sides and transfer to a plate... Add remaining butter and cognac, sauté mushrooms for 8 minutes, add beef stock and whisk in the gravy, mix until Smooth, stir in remaining g soup and mix well... Return patties to skillet, spoon gravy over the top, cover pan and simmering for 20 minutes, serve over hot rice or potatoes or pasta... Enjoy! |
