One ham bone with meat on it
2-3 stalks celery
2 onions cubed
5 carrots cubed
Pepper
2 potatoes cubed
2 cans white beans.

Directions:
Place in LG soup pot the ham, 1 onion, celery, 3 carrots Boil until ham falls off the bone. Strain and start over. Make sure to wash kettle
Taste the broth to see how salty it is. Add Ham soup base as needed. Some ham can be very salty.
Place cut up ham back in broth. Add the potatoes, the rest of the onion and carrots plus the 2 cans of beans.

Mom used to soak white beans but the can beans work just as well.
Boil until potatoes are tender. Make a roux out of butter and flour. Add some broth into the roux until it is smooth. Add to soup to thicken. Add half and half.
