3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
½ teaspoon salt
pepper to taste
1 cup milk
1¼ cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
pinch cayenne pepper

Directions:
Directions:
While asparagus is cooking, I cook mine in microwave. Make cheese sauce, melt butter in saucepan, add flour, stir until smooth. Cook about one minute. Slowly add milk, salt and peppers. Cook until thick, stirring occasionally, so it doesn't get lump. When add cheese, stir until melted. Add to cooked asparagus. (drain if has lots of liquid).
