1 qt. (4 cups) strawberries
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
3 T cornstarch

Crust
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup butter or margarine softened, not melted

8 oz. of Cool Whip if desired for topping

Simmer 1 cup of berries and 1 cup sugar in a 2/3 cup of the water about 3 minutes. ix cornstarch and remaining 1/3 cup of water; stir into simmering berries. Boil 1 minute stirring constantly. COOL


Crust Directions: In an 8" or 0" pan

Mix all the ingredients together for the crust using a fork or pastry blender. Press mixture onto bottom and sides of pie dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 7 or 8 minutes. COOL


Cooled Filling Directions:
Spread 1/3 of the cooled mixture on the bottom and sides of the cooled pie shell. Put remaining berries in pie shell; cover with rest of the cooked and cooled mixture. Refrigerate until firm. Top with 8 oz. of Cool Whip.

Note: I use a graham cracker crust
Note: You can substitute peaches for berries
