¼ C. smooth peanut butter
½ C. shortening
⅓ C. sugar
⅓ C. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 C. mashed bananas
1 ¾ C. flour
1 ¼ tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Sift together dry ingredients and reserve. Cream together shortening and peanut butter. Add sugar .mixing well.Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Add vanilla, Add alternately flour and mashed banana, ending with flour. Bake 25 minutes.

Mom used to frost these by creaming together 1/2 C. smooth peanut butter and 1/4 C. softened butter. Blend in 2 1/2 C. powdered sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla. She said to add 3 or 4 T. cream or milk if needed for a good spreading consistency
