1 c. shortening
13/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs, separated
1 c. cold water
1/3 c. pureed tomatoes
21/2 c. cake flour
1/2 c. dry cocoa
11/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
10 strawberries sliced

Cream together shortening, sugar, vanilla and egg yolks only. Beat whites until stiff and fold in. In another bowl sift together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Mix wet and dry indredients. Bake in two greased round pans at 350 for 35 - 40 minutes. Frost with your favorite chocolate butter frosting and top with strawberries.
