Ingredients:
Ingredients:
6 cups flour
2 cups butter, softened
1 cake yeast or 1 package (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
1 cup milk, divided
4 egg yolks
½ cup sugar
½ teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Sift 2 cups of flour into a large bowl. Cut the butter into small pieces and then cut the pieces into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Set aside.

Dissolve yeast in ½ cup warm milk. In another bowl, mix the remaining flour, egg yolks, and dissolved yeast. Add remaining milk, sugar, salt, and vanilla. Stir to mix. Knead dough until smooth, about 15 minutes. Wrap dough well and chill thoroughly.

Roll dough out on a floured surface until ¼-inch thick. Spread with ¼ of the butter-flour mixture. Fold dough in thirds. Wrap in wax paper and refrigerate for 15 minutes. Repeat this process 3 more times. After the fourth turn, the dough is ready to use.

Fill dough with dried fruit cooked in a little water and 2 tablespoon sugar. A pasta machine will make it easier to roll the dough out.
