5 to 6 baking apples
½ cup sugar
¼ cup flour, divided
½ teaspoon nutmeg
½ teaspoon cinnamon
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
2 tablespoons lemon juice
⅓ cup brown sugar
¼ cup butter

Directions:
Directions:
Peel, core, and quarter apples. Then cut quarters in half crosswise to make a chunk. Place in a bowl. Mix in sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, and spices, coating apples well. Spoon apples into the pie shell. Drizzle lemon juice on top of apples.

In a small bowl, mix together 2 tablespoons flour and brown sugar. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle mixture over apple filling.

Slide pie into a large, heavy brown paper bag; fold opening over twice and secure with paper clips. Place pie on a cookie sheet. Bake 70 to 75 minutes at 425°F. Cool in bag for 10 minutes. Remove the pie from the bag and continue cooling on a rack.
