˝ pound dry lima beans
1 small onion
12 cups water
4 stalks celery
4 carrots
1 parsnip
Salt and pepper to taste
˝ teaspoon paprika
2 tablespoon butter or chicken fat

Directions:
Directions:
Wash beans. Add to a pot the beans, water, salt, pepper, and butter. Simmer for 30 minutes. Add chopped vegetables and paprika to soup. Simmer for 30 minutes.
 

Csipetke

1 egg
1 tablespoon water
Dash of salt and pepper
1 cup flour

Directions:
Directions:
Meanwhile, mix csipetke ingredients until stiff. Pinch off a pea-sized bit of dough. Rub the bit of dough between your fore fingers, forming an oval “csipetke.” Add the csipetke to the soup and simmer for 30 minutes.
