1 lb ground beef, lightly browned
1½ lbs. ground pork, lightly browned
2 T. flour
1 T. shortening
2 large onions, chopped
6 green onions, chopped
3 T. chopped parsley

Filling: Make a roux of the shortening and flour; add the other ingredients and let cool before placing in dough.

4 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
½ cup melted shortening (do not substitute oil)
Milk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour and baking soda; add shortening, then eggs. Add enough milk to make a stiff dough. Roll out very thin.

Use a saucer to cut circles the same size of the saucer. Fill half full with meat mixture. Fold the dough over and crimp edges with a fork. Fry in the deep fat until golden brown. May be baked rather than fried.
