Crust
1½ cups flour
3 tablespoons sugar
¾ c.soft butter
⅔ cup walnuts
Mix together and spread in 9x13 cake pan. Bake at 325 15 minutes or until light brown.
Filling
5 cups diced rhubarb
5 beaten egg yolks
1½ cups sugar
⅔ cup cream
3 heaping tablespoons flour
¾ t. vanilla
Grated rind of 1 orange optional
Mix and put on crust and bake 45 minutes
Meringue
5 egg whites beaten to peaks
Add 9 tablespoons sugar and beat again. Spread over filling and brown at 400 degrees. Watch closely.
