5 c. sugar
3 c. lard
3 c. milk
4 eggs
6 t. baking powder
3 t. baking soda
flavor
10 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar, lard, milk, eggs and vanilla. Mix together dry ingredients and add to creamed ingredients. Roll out and cut out with large round cookie cutter. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350º.

Church Cookies were passed down the rows of benches to the children during the long Amish church services. This recipe came from Polly Yoder, Lizzie's mother.
