Mix and place in bottom of 9x13 pan:
1 ⅓ lb cooking apples; peel, core, chop
6 Tbsp brown sugar
1½ small lemon juice + zested
½ tsp cinnamon

Beat:
7 Tbsp butter
½ cup sugar

Add:
2 large eggs
½ vanilla
¾ cup self-rising flour

For Custard simmer:
2 cups milk
½ cup sugar
5 egg yolks
1 teas vanilla
Cook until reaches 170º, then place into a metal bowl set in ice water.

Directions:
Directions:
Spoon dough over the apples. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake 350ºF for 40 minutes. Serve with custard and/or cool whip.
