3/4 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 c. sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon extract
1/2 c. walnuts
Icing
6 Tbsp. butter
1 egg yolk
3 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 Tbsp. hot coffee
Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and add sugar gradually. Blend in well beaten eggs. Sift together flour baking powder , baking soda, spices, and cocoa. Add milk, lemon and nuts. Pour into a greased and floured 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
Beat together icing ingredients until smooth and spread onto cooled cake.
