Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 c Pinto Beans
1 1/2 tsp Salt
Couple Shakes of Garlic Powder
2 Strips of Bacon
7 c Water

Directions:
Directions:
Clear out all broken and odd beans and rocks from your pinto beans. Pour beans into a 2 quart pot and add rest of the ingredients then stir to mix together.

Simmer on low for approximately 3 hours. Stirring occasionally. Water will need to be added as the water boils down.

Beans will be cooked when they are soft enough to smush against the side of the pot. There will still be liquid with the beans.

Beans can be stored in the frig for 3-4 days or frozen indefinitely.

You can serve them whole or to have "refried" beans ..... put beans into a skillet with a small amount of water and simmer on low until warmed through when you can smush them with the back of a spoon.

Personal Notes:
When I make beans, I make a double batch and then put half in the freezer for a later date.
