1 (8oz) pkg pitted dates (snipped)
1/2 cup flaked coconut
1/2 cup sugar
4 T butter or margarine
1 slightly beaten egg
Dash salt
1 1/2 cups rice krispies
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 t vanilla
Red sugar crystals
Directions:
Directions:
In skillet combine dates, coconut, sugar, butter, egg and salt. Cook and stir over medium low heat till mixture thickens and bubbles (5-10 minutes). Remove from heat, stir in rice krispies, chopped nuts and vanilla. Cool 10 minutes. Shape into balls and roll in red crystals.
