"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

My ex-mother-in-law's worst recipe was "komla." She said it was Norwegian and had been passed down through the family. It was a glutinous ball made of ground raw potatoes and flour packed around a hunk of Polish sausage. After these globs were boiled in water, their color was cesspool gray. They tasted like vulcanized rubber. Her only son loved them! Maybe they were the cause of the divorce!
