2/3 c butter or margarine
1 1/2 c sugar
3 medium bananas - mashed
2 eggs - well beaten
1 tsp vanilla
2 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 c buttermilk or sour milk
3/4 c chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Blend in bananas, eggs and vanilla. Add flour and soda and salt alternating with buttermilk. Mix thoroughly after each addition. Add nuts and mix. In 9 x 5 pan bake 1 1/4 hr at 325º or until done. Very moist - Orace's favorite kind of banana bread.

Dad was so easy to please. He liked everything. The only thing he didn't care for was sweet potatoes but he ate them anyway. He liked food and thought everything was good. I do remember he always had to have jelly or honey or something on his toast for breakfast. He didn't like it plain.
