1 cup sour creamilk
1 tsp. baking soda (Combine and set aside)

½ cup Butter
1 cup Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 ¾ cup Flour
2 tsp. Baking Powder

Topping: ¼ cup brown sugar, 2 tsp. cinnamon, 2 Tbsp. crushed nuts

Directions:
Cream together butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. In separate bowl mix flour and baking powder together. Combine flour and cream milk alternately with the butter mixture, beginning and ending with flour. Pour ½ batter into greased 9" square pan or small angel food pan. Sprinkle on ½ the topping. Pour in remaining batter and sprinkle with the remaining topping. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

Note: I make this cake in a small angel food cake pan. I line the bottom with parchment so that I can easily lift the cake off of the center ring and place on a plate to serve. This recipe cannot be doubled and baked in a large angel food pan. It doesn't cook in the center.
